- A test antibiotic is showing promise warding off a deadly infection commonly spread through hospital patients. The intestinal bacterium kills thousands of Americans a year, according to the New York Times. And the death toll has been rising sharply because a more virulent strain has emerged.
- A new study shows that schools might not be responsible for poor eating habits in kids. The study in this month’s Journal of Nutrition and Education Behavior found that when schools limited high school students’ access to soft drinks, it didn’t have much of an impact.
