Free Medicare help in Little Saigon

December 3rd, 2008, 1:00 pm · Post a Comment · posted by Courtney Perkes

If you or a parent are struggling with choosing the right Medicare prescription drug plan for next year, the pros are available to help. Medicare officials as well as local counselors will be in Westminster on Thursday afternoon to guide seniors in picking the most affordable plan for their needs. HICAP (Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program) has a breakdown of the changes in all the plans here. All you have to bring is a list of medications, your Medicare card and the name of the pharmacy you like to go to. Enrollment ends Dec. 31. Assistance in Vietnamese will also be available. At left, Mike Leavitt, Secretary of Health and Human Services, visited a similar event in 2006.

Here are the event details:

Thursday, 1-4 p.m.
Nguoi Viet Daily News Offices
14771 Moran St.
Westminster
